1st Grade Teacher
This is my 22nd year of teaching first grade here at Reid Elementary. It's the only grade I've ever taught, so I like to think of myself as a specialist!  I think it's the BEST year to teach (of course) in part because it is a year of such tremendous learning and growth. First graders are my people. I am a firm advocate of teaching the whole child, and a dedicated believer in the importance of play. I also know how very capable young children are when they are given a safe, nurturing environment in which to be brave and take risks! Each June I am truly amazed at how much my kiddos have grown!



I live in nearby Grand Blanc with my husband of 34 years, Mark. We have two grown daughters, and have recently added two amazing sons-in-law to our family. This year promises to be an extra exciting one, as we anticipate our first grandchild in October! I'm a big fan of my Spartans (GO GREEN!), children's bookstores, Public Radio, the New England coast (where that grandbaby lives), trees, coffee, and farmers markets.
